1. Who is responsible
“WBS,” “we,” and “us” mean the business operating this website as WBS Landscaping. The owner/operator of WBS Landscaping serves as the Privacy Officer and is responsible for the personal information handled through website, quote, and customer communications.
To make a written privacy request, use the contact form, choose “Privacy or personal-information request,” and describe what you need. You can also email hackett_rob@yahoo.ca or call (825) 794-2188 to request another accessible format.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Name, email address, and optional phone number.
- Town, neighbourhood, or general project location.
- Requested service, project description, access information, timing, and other details you choose to provide.
- Later emails, texts, calls, site-visit notes, quote information, and project correspondence.
- Project photos only if we later ask you to send them through an agreed channel.
Please do not send government identifiers, financial account information, medical information, images of people who have not agreed, licence plates, or other sensitive or unnecessary information.
Technical information
The hosting, security, and network providers that deliver the website may automatically process IP address, device/browser information, requested pages, dates and times, referral information, and security-event data.
If you accept analytics, WBS uses Google Analytics 4 with measurement ID G-QWLJSJXK9T. Google Analytics may process device and browser information, an online identifier, approximate location information derived from technical signals, pages viewed, referring pages, visit dates and times, and website interactions. Enhanced measurement may measure page views, scrolls, outbound link clicks, site searches, video engagement, and file downloads when those features occur. Automatic form-interaction measurement is disabled so the quote form's destination is not sent to Google Analytics. WBS does not intentionally send your contact-form field values or project details to Google Analytics.
3. Why we use information
- Assess and respond to a quote or service inquiry.
- Ask follow-up questions, request useful project photos, or arrange a site visit.
- Prepare, discuss, and administer quotes and requested services.
- Schedule work and communicate about access, weather, materials, changes, and completion.
- Maintain reasonable customer, project, tax, insurance, safety, and legal records.
- Prevent spam, misuse, fraud, and security incidents.
- If you accept analytics, understand website use, identify technical or navigation problems, and improve website content and performance.
- Meet legal obligations and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
4. Consent and choices
Submitting the quote form asks WBS to use the supplied information for the purposes described beside the form and in this policy. You may withdraw or change consent for optional uses by contacting WBS through the methods above, subject to reasonable notice and information the business must retain for legal or operational purposes.
A response to your requested quote is not a newsletter subscription. WBS will not add quote leads to promotional email or text campaigns without a separate, optional consent.
Analytics is optional. When there is no saved choice, analytics and advertising-related storage are set to denied and the Google Analytics script is not requested. The consent banner lets you accept or decline analytics. The website saves only that choice—granted or denied—in your browser's local storage under wbs-analytics-consent so it can respect the choice on later visits.
You can use the “Privacy choices” control in the bottom corner of the website at any time to review or change your choice. If you withdraw consent, the site stops future analytics collection, updates Google Consent Mode to denied, and attempts to remove first-party Google Analytics cookies from this website. Withdrawing consent does not automatically erase information already collected. You can also use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or contact WBS through the privacy-request route if you need help with a privacy choice or request.
5. Service providers and processing outside Canada
WBS uses service providers to operate the website and communicate:
- FormSubmit processes online form submissions and states that submissions are archived for 30 days for delivery and spam protection.
- Email providers deliver and store the message received from the form and later correspondence.
- Website hosting, network, and security providers deliver the site, manage traffic, and help prevent abuse.
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) acts as WBS's analytics service provider/processor when you accept analytics. It processes website-use information under Google Analytics terms and WBS's property settings. Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled in the website configuration. Read how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Google's Privacy Policy.
These providers may process information outside Alberta or Canada, where it can be subject to the laws of another jurisdiction. FormSubmit's public information does not provide WBS with a complete country-by-country processing list. If you do not want to use the online form, call (825) 794-2188 before providing personal information.
WBS does not sell personal information. Information may otherwise be disclosed with your consent, to providers performing the purposes above, in a business transfer subject to appropriate protection, or where law permits or requires it.
6. Retention and deletion
WBS keeps information only as long as reasonably needed for the inquiry, service relationship, operational needs, and legal obligations. Unsuccessful inquiries should be reviewed and deleted when no longer useful. Project, transaction, tax, warranty, insurance, or dispute records may be kept longer where reasonably required; Canadian tax records commonly need to be retained for six years.
Analytics information already collected may remain in Google Analytics according to the retention settings for the WBS property and may also appear in aggregated reports. Changing your browser choice stops future collection on that browser but does not by itself delete previously collected information. Contact WBS through the privacy-request route if you want to ask about access or deletion.
Deleting a form archive does not automatically delete copies delivered to an email mailbox or placed in project records. When information is no longer needed, WBS will take reasonable steps to delete, destroy, or anonymize it.
7. Safeguards
WBS uses safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity and amount of information, such as HTTPS, restricted account access, device and account security, provider controls, backups, and reasonable deletion practices. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
8. Access, correction, and complaints
You may make a written request to access personal information WBS holds about you, learn how it has been used or disclosed, or request correction of inaccurate information. WBS may need to verify your identity and may withhold limited information where law permits. Alberta PIPA generally requires a response to a formal written access request within 45 days, subject to permitted extensions.
If a concern is not resolved with WBS, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
9. Cookies and similar technology
The website uses browser local storage to remember your analytics choice. This preference is used to honour your decision and is not an analytics profile. Hosting and security services may also use essential cookies or similar signals to deliver the site, prevent abuse, or verify browser traffic.
If you accept analytics, Google Analytics may set first-party cookies such as _ga and a property-specific _ga_* cookie to distinguish visits and measure use. Google sets these cookies for up to two years by default, although browser settings, consent withdrawal, deletion, or a shorter property configuration may end them sooner. If you decline, the Google Analytics script is not requested and analytics storage remains denied. WBS does not currently install advertising pixels, and its Google Analytics configuration disables Google signals and advertising personalization.
10. Children
This website and its quote form are intended for adults arranging property services. WBS does not knowingly seek personal information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
WBS may update this policy when website tools, providers, services, or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be presented clearly on the website.
